Inaugural Metalman Triathlon 2021 

The Metalman Middle Distance Triathlon took place for the first time in Newtown Cove, Tramore Co. Waterford on 4th September 2021. Triathletes swam from the Guillamene towards Tramore Pier, around the buoys and returned to Newtown Cove for Swim exit and onto the bike leg. Darkness enveloped transition as athletes began to arrive at 5.30am for the 7am start and head torches were the fashion accessory of the morning! The beautiful Copper Coast provided the environment for the Bike and Run leg. The weather played it's part with calm, dry overcast conditions and this inaugural event was a huge success. many congrats to all triathletes on completion and of course to Race Director Emmet Kelly and all his team for an excellent race. Here's to next year!
